Hi guys and welcome to another blog,
Today I'm writing about the all new Audi's electric SUV. The Audi E-Tron.
Lets start with the key, so the key gets 3 buttons for lack, unlock and to open the tail gate of the car, the key gets Audi logo with gloss black and metallic silver treatment
Looks
At the front, there is a fronk means front part of the car with a trunk as it is a electric car. The fronk gets hydraulic strut, and a small storage space for the charger and owners manual. It also gets light and a 12-volt charging socket with no insulation under the hood as its a very silent of a car, It doesn't need it actually.
Anyways the design of these car is the typical Audi affair with a large grill. E-tron written at the front, difficult to read. It got a green color number plate as its a EV. Under the Audi logo is the front parking camera you got front parking sensors and grill is done with a silver finish as well. And lower half of the bumper gets skid plate sort of treatment with small grill to cool the batteries. Meanwhile at the sides their are functional air vents which draws in air to the wheel for more aerodynamics, of course electric cars need to be aerodynamically efficient to save the battery and the range. At the front itself you got the towing hook along with headlamp washer and the lights are supper bright as it happens to be the Audi digital matrix light with LED DRLs with bi-functions as a dynamic swipe indicator again looks supper duper nice at night.
Even when standing still, car looks fast. These car gets 20 inch wheels with yellow colored brake calipers, E-tron written there to. And in both the front fenders it gets the charging ports makes it extremely practical to charge. Meanwhile this car is based on Audi Q5 but is bigger and wider than that means it has more space on offer inside. At lower part there is again gloss black treatment. And it got air suspension, means you can increase it or decrease it if you so wish. This car gets request sensors on all the four doors with puddle lamps and cameras under the ORVM. It also has silver roof rails, black finish on the B-pillar and C-pillar with chrome surround around the window area.
Coming to the rear part the first thing attracts you are the lights, they are really fab in terms of design with dynamic swipe indicators and a long and thin light at the center which connects both the lights. Underneath there is black and silver finish of course to reduce the visual bulk and there is no exhaust still there is such treatment like exhaust at the rear.
Let us open the boot, it gets electric tail gate with a massive boot with plenty of hooks and handles a 12-volt charger and lights. Under it there is the spare wheel which is a space saver and not an alloy to. At rear itself there are buttons to fold the 2nd row of seat into 60:40 ratio.
Getting in the rear seats 1st thing is the doors get hard plastic at the top also in the bottom to with large bottle holders with soft touch at the arm rest on the door along with silver finish at the ambient light placements. These also has manually adjustable Sun blinds with one touch up and down power windows. Seats are good but could have a better recline angle. There are 3 adjustable headrest with a center arm rest along with cup holders and space to keep papers.
At the rear there is no floor hump and the AC vents are at the center and at the B-pillar as well, at the central console it got controls for AC, as of course it got 4 zone climate control. And under is a USB C sockets for charging and seats also gets magazine holders with mobile holder too.
At the front the door gets typical VW switch gears to operate ORVMs, window and for child locks. under it get big bottle holders too with memory function only for the driver seat, Both the front seats got electric adjust. Paddle area is quite neat and is very basic with a dead paddle and all is finished in rubber, but hard plastics are in plenty in this car. And there is a secret storage space for the driver and headlight control at above too. The seats look quite comfortable and they are huge. The overall look of the cabin is really nice other than the fact of hard plastic which are in plenty here which is very disappointment at this price point. The glove box is of decent size with a light and a pen holder too.
At the top you get sun visors with mirrors and lights, there are plenty of lights in this car and are touch sensitive in that regard. There are controls for sun roof of the car which is a panoramic one but of decent size not very big as in the Harrier or the Safari. At the central console you have 2 screens one is for infotainment and other is for climate control with various other functions like down hill assist, heads up display, defogger etc. Gear lever is pretty good to hold and is massive, when you go to reverse it shows the camera view with adaptive guidlines and there is a button for park assist the basic driver assist system with sensors nothing much fancy as such, Nice looking screen for sure with gloss black finish which is a finger print magnet but gets Audi dynamic controls, 30 ambient light options, car details and with a nice map as well. The 360° is just awsome but shows a car of different color.
This Audi virtual cockpit is even better with all bells and vessels, it shows nice graphics every time while turning on the car. Also you can change the view according to your taste and give the basic information like trip data, range, charge in the battery maps and two dial or one dial options.
Steering looks similar to Hyundai Creta as Hyundai copied Audi not Audi copied Hyundai in that regard. It for electric adjust for the steering and there are stocks for cruise control, wipers and headlights, In terms of storage there is wireless charging pad with 12-volt socket and with USBs with big cup holders and arm rest again with storage in it.
And the overall ambient is really good and the AC vents do remind me of the Tiguan All Space. With a perfume inside it as well.
Performance
Powering this car are two electric motors one at the front and another at the rear with 95 Kwh battery it makes 170 Hp at front axle and 190 Hp at rear, produces 664 Nm of torque all that comes from 0@RPM and the combine power output is 408 Hp puts the power to all four wheels by the E-Quatro system and makes 0-100 Km/h in 5.7 secs which is again decently quick for an EV. Audi says it has a range of 390 Km to 484 km which is quite good and depending where and how you are driving.
